The ice skating rink is now open through February 28, 2023.
With the help of Erie Insurance, the Erie Downtown Partnership has opened a popup skating rink in Perry Square between State Street and the fountain.
Made of a synthetic surface, called Glice, which allows skaters to skate in all types of weather including rain, snow, or even if it’s warm outside.
The surface looks and feels like you are skating on ice, but it isn’t ice. You can read more about this technology here: https://www.glicerink.com/
This is just another activity of Winter fun for the Erie Community.
Skating is for ages 4 and up and adult supervision is required. They do advise that all first-time skaters please wear a helmet, including adults.
Rental Skates are available and access is on a first-come, first-served basis as the rink can only accommodate 32 skaters at once. Skaters may be limited to shorter skate times on busier days like Erie Winter Carnival and Downtown d’Lights.
Hours of Operation

Saturday: Noon to 8:00 p.m.
Sunday: Noon to 5:00 p.m.
